Anthony Johnson thinks he?s ready for another run in the Octagon

Anthony Johnson may not have impressed his former UFC bosses by struggling to make weight while competing at 170 pounds or failing to hit his required mark as was the case a number of times including an attempt at 185 pounds. However, his combination of power/technique also likely made an impression, and Johnson has since picked up a pair of wins since being released by the organization. Now he believes a third might earn him a second shot in the UFC.

In fact, Johnson would jump at a chance to return to the Octagon tomorrow if the opportunity presented itself.

?I think I?m ready now. They should have called me when Dan Henderson got hurt. I would have taken that fight, no problem. I wouldn?t have said no,? said Johnson in an interview with Bloody Elbow, referring to a recent situation involving Henderson and a headlining title-fight against champion Jon Jones. ?I?ll fight anybody. It doesn?t matter when or where. They could throw me in with Joe Schmo, and I would fight him. It doesn?t matter to me.?

Johnson Admits Move to Light Heavyweight Was Long Overdue

Adding legitimacy to Johnson?s claim, ?Rumble? is coming off a knockout win in his light heavyweight debut. The division is much better suited for his physique and should eliminate the problems he previous experienced making weight.

The 12-4 Johnson is scheduled to face UFC veteran Jake Rosholt this coming Friday night at XFN 9 where he’ll get a chance to prove himself one more time in hopes of getting a call from the Zuffa matchmaking team.
