Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira says he's 100%, wants to fight soon

The UFC got a long overdue dose of good news this week when heavyweight legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira announced he was fully recovered from an arm injury and was back to training in hopes of a fight before the year?s end. Nogueira has been out of action since December 2011 when his refusal to tap to Frank Mir?s Kimura resulted in the limb being broken. He attempted to come back for a fight a few months back but ultimately withdrew, saying he?d suffered some setbacks while training for the bout.

Fortunately, that?s no longer an issue and in fact Nogueira wants to fight again as soon as possible.

?My recovery is 100-percent. I tried getting better for July, but I got hurt again. I think it was too soon,? said Nogueira in an interview with Sherdog.

?It’s totally recovered and I started to train again in mid-July,? he continued on his condition. ?I feel my arm is getting stronger, getting faster. I’m training every day and I hope to fight soon. I’m just waiting on confirmation from the UFC.?

Though it could be a stretch, ?Minotauro? might even be up for a short notice scrap at UFC 153. The October event, bound for Rio de Janeiro, lost Brazilian headliner Jose Aldo due to injury and is in need of an injection of star-power. Nogueira was recently seen in a picture Tweeted by friend Lyoto Machida talking about a ?big surprise? on the horizon.
